Soundgarden’s reissue of Down on the Upside has arrived, and it’s better than ever. The album is one of the best albums of the 90s, and this new 180g remaster sounds amazing! This is the first time you can get an official reissue of Down on the Upside on vinyl, so don’t miss out.
Soundgarden’s Down on the Upside
When Soundgarden released Down on the Upside in 1996, it was an abrupt change from their trademark angular sound. The album shifted its emphasis to a more melodic and introspective side, partly fueling the band’s eventual breakup in 1997. This album is also notable for its experimentation with different sound signatures, guitar tunings, and other elements that gave it a more live-like feel.
Although Soundgarden’s fifth studio album was a commercial flop, it remains one of the band’s most iconic and influential records. While the band split up after its fifth album, some members remained and pushed for a more experimental sound. Chris Cornell defended this approach and it resulted in Down On the Upside being reissued by Universal Records. Despite this, the album still requires a reassessment.
As the band’s fifth album, Down on the Upside debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and sold over 200,000 copies during its first week of release. While the grunge movement had topped out by this point, the album remains a powerful offering from a band at a crossroads.
Louder Than Love
Louder Than Love was released on September 5, 1989, through A&M Records. It marked the band’s first album for a major label, and featured their unique, metal-leaning grunge sound and time signatures. It was the first Soundgarden album to chart on the Billboard 200. It was also the first album that featured the band’s original bassist, Hiro Yamamoto.
The album is highly regarded and features classic songs from the band. It was formed in 1984, and featured Chris Cornell and guitarist Kim Thayil. The band later replaced Yamamoto with guitarist Ben Shepherd, and went on to become one of the most revered rock acts of the 1990s. The album was recently remastered and released on vinyl, which is a welcome addition to a collection of classic rock.
Soundgarden are planning a re-issue of their classic albums on vinyl. The upcoming Louder Than Love vinyl reissue will include remastered versions of the album, as well as bonus tracks. The album will be available in two 180-gram vinyl LPs. Each will feature original artwork. The band has not revealed who engineered the remasters.
Down on the Upside
The band Soundgarden is releasing a remastered facsimile of their classic album Down on the Upside on vinyl. This is a special 20th anniversary edition and will be limited to 100 units worldwide. The album was released in 1996, and was their second full-length studio album. It is a fantastic listen, and is sure to impress.
The album was certified platinum by the RIAA, and was the last new Soundgarden album for 16 years. This album features a remastered version by Bob Ludwig, and will also come with a digital download card. Down on the Upside has a surprisingly raw live sound.
Out-of-Print on vinyl
If you’re a vinyl fan, you’ve probably heard the phrase, “Out-of-Print on vinyl.” This term refers to records that have been out of print for a long time. However, there are ways to obtain out-of-print vinyl. For instance, the Ninja Tune service is a service that re-releases out-of-print vinyl records from independent labels. It’s a great way to get a hold of an out-of-print record, or a record you love.
Many vinyl records are out-of-print because their sales are so low that they can no longer justify producing more copies. Similarly, CDs become out-of-print when the company’s stockpile of prints reaches its limit. However, you can avoid the frustration that comes with buying out-of-print records by doing a little research before purchasing.
If you’re a fan of jazz and soul, you can re-discover some classics with an out-of-print vinyl release. The re-issue of Paul Rodgers’ “Cut Loose” on 180 Gram Arctic White Vinyl and Translucent Blue Vinyl by Friday Music is a great way to relive the timeless beauty of this iconic record.
