The family of Douglas S. “Doug” Wright wishes to pay tribute to the late husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle. He died suddenly on May 9 from a suspected cardiac event. The family would like to thank Doug for his support of the Bob Graham Center’s mission and the efforts of its founder Dr. Matt Jacobs. In honor of Doug’s life, we have compiled a brief obituary for 2021.

Doug was a devoted Baptist and loved serving others. He served as a deacon at Trindale Baptist Church and also in the Baptist Men disaster relief program. He was also an Army Veteran. Doug worked as an insurance agent and retired at the age of 50. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, hunting, fishing, and target shooting. In addition to his family, Doug will be missed by a host of friends.

Doug married Diana L. Winger on May 28, 2021 in Livonia, MI. He leaves behind his wife, Diana L. Winger, and two children, Nathan Mackinder and Ronda Mackinder. Douglas also leaves behind two grandchildren, Emily and Ben, and his brother David Mackinder. Wright is also survived by his sister, Paula Schalk, of Sterling Heights, MI. The family includes springer spaniels Daisy and Pepper.
